City of Angels Green Room Nominations
The Life Like Company office was buzzing last week with the news that City of Angels has been nominated for six Green Room Awards!
Each year the awards honour extraordinary performance works in Melbourne through seven categories: Music Theatre, Contemporary & Experimental Theatre, Dance, Cabaret, Independent Theatre, Opera and Theatre Companies.
The winners in each category are decided by a panel of highly experienced judges, and will be announced at a star studded ceremony on March 21st at the Comedy Theatre.
For Female in Supporting Role, cast member Anne Wood has been nominated for her beguiling portrayal of the socialite Alaura Kingsley. Adam-Jon Fiorentino also received a Supporting Role nomination for the part of Lieutenant Munoz. His hilarious performance of ‘All You Have to Do Is Wait’ was unforgettable.
The ingenious work of Tom Willis has been recognised for the Design (Lighting) award. Representing two different worlds on stage at the same time was not a simple task!
The leaders at the creative helm of the production- Martin Croft and Kellie Dickerson- have been nominated for Direction and Musical Direction respectively.
Finally, in a testament to the hard work of the cast and crew, City of Angels received a nomination for overall Production. Being up against shows such as West Side Story and Strictly Ballroom makes this one of the most anticipated categories of the night!
Stay tuned to the Life Like Company Twitter during the Green Rooms Ceremony on March 21st to see the results.
